FEAST OF St. Joseph
Several Church Fathers and theologians have said that the Holy Family is the Terrestrial Trinidad (earthly trinity), being a reflection of the Holy Trinity.
Internal relations between the three persons of the Holy Trinity can give us an idea of the relationship that existed between the 3 members of the Holy Family.
The union of Christ and St. Joseph had to reflect that most perfect and substantial union of God the Father to God the Son.
This union was necessary for St. Joseph, who was the protector of the Word of God, and of his words, his mysteries , his humanity, his priesthood, his Blessed Mother, especially the mystery of immolation that was beginning to take shape.
That is why St. Joseph was totally absorbed in God, to act as God through grace.
St. Joseph was docile to the Holy Ghost, who gave him his mission and to God the Father, about his virginal Fatherhood to the Son of God.
St. Joseph had an ineffable humility, whilst living in the presence of God , the Incarnate Word. His profound knowledge of God and of Scripture was matched by his love and therefore he had profound humility. His physical contact with Jesus for 30 years made him so humble that it does not even register a word in Holy Scripture .
St. Joseph is no ordinary saint. The virgin is the Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ , the Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary , Father and Patron of the Universal Church and of each of us. His role is unique in each and every aspect of redemption, salvation of our souls.
St. Joseph is more than the apostles, he is the Father of the apostles. For three years Jesus prepared the 12 apostles for the initial mission of the Church, but to enlist San Jose for his role as guardian and Father of the Catholic Church he needed 30.
St. Joseph and Jesus were intimately united in prayer, in thought, work , desires and sufferings. St. Joseph is the one who taught the Child Jesus natural manly virtues, those virtues that Jesus would imitate in his passion and death. St. Joseph had the science of the Cross by an eminent degree. That had to be so because Jesus shared everything with St. Joseph, as would any good parent to their child, and all good sons to their fathers . Together they will rule the Church, together suffer for it, and take care together of his greatest treasure : The Blessed Virgin Mary.
St. Joseph shared with God the Holy Ghost their title Father of Jesus and husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary and by that very fact was filled with the Holy Ghost.
By eternal decree, St. Joseph was destined to become the virgin Father of God the Son. Appropriating the title rightfully very few have deigned to consider using, that is, St. Joseph as the "Father of God through his wife, Mary."
But the biggest contributions of St. Joseph were the sufferings. Just knowing that her Son was God and sto ee him suffer, tormented his soul. Jesus could not help but share his cross with Joseph. And it was impossible for him, St. Joseph to be indifferent to what was in the soul of Jesus . The two living so closely together in love and so sensitive to suffering. Both of them living as two friends have ever existed, comforted , strengthening and imitating each other.
Just to see God suffer from birth each and every day ... When we know that the greatest consolation of the saints is to know that God never suffers, now being eternally happy .... But St. Joseph did not have this consolation ...
You know that " There is no greater love than to lay down ones life for his friends" ... this was the life of St. Joseph for Jesus, Mary ... and us!
St. Joseph as a good carpenter by trade and soul, he was a living Cross, teaching Jesus daily.
This is how Jesus Christ took the step of the Cross in the very strong and loving arms of his Father St. Joseph, the ineffable arms of the Cross .... A Unique and ineffable mystery ..
